Summer's here, time to upgrade your look with Hubble

Wed, June 1st, 2022

We can finally see the white light at the end of the winter tunnel, and the long-awaited arrival of warm summer air is here.

Beach trips and ocean dips are on the horizon!

Oh, wait, you just remembered you wear glasses, and the not-so-cute struggle of summer and spectacles has taken over your mind.

It may have crossed your mind before to take the leap and introduce contact lenses into your daily routine, but you're still on the fence.

There's no time like the present, especially with so many outings on your agenda, to introduce new vision correction options that will pair better with the summer fun.

We understand that you may not want to abandon your current routine, but you don't have to choose just one vision correction option. You can still hang on to your trusty frames for those moments that call for glasses and throw on a pair of fresh contacts when glasses just don't do the trick.

You can also consider introducing prescription sunglasses into your summer must-haves.

There are various vision correction options to help you get that perfect summer look and ensure you have the crystal clear vision you deserve.

Thinking about upgrading your summer look with contact lenses?

If glasses don't always seem to get the job done and leave you feeling frustrated, it may be time to consider introducing contact lenses into the mix. Various glasses wearers use both glasses and contact lenses interchangeably to fit their day-to-day activities better.

Sometimes glasses can become more cumbersome than beneficial, especially during those warm summer outings or athletic activities.

Contact lenses may be a more convenient choice for vision correction during a beach volleyball game, sunrise yoga, a park jog, boardwalk bike rides, a boat or jet ski ride, or simply if you don't want your frames to steal the show from your fashionable new swimwear.

You don’t have to worry about damaging your contacts as you would with eyeglasses during physical sports. Your contacts will stay in place and won't get sticky or sweaty whereas glasses can become quite problematic during these types of activities.

If you're on the fence about incorporating contact lenses in your life, you should have a discussion with your eye care specialist first.

Your doctor will be able to tell you if contact lenses are right for you and which type of lenses will work best for you.

At your exam, your doctor will also be able to fit you for contact lenses and provide you with a contact lens prescription.

Looking for a new doctor or want to be fitted for Hubble lenses? Check out Hubble's find-a-doctor portal and visit a Hubble participating doctor near you.

Side Note: Contact lens prescriptions differ from glasses prescriptions, so you'll need an eye exam to obtain a new prescription.

If you have the all-clear from your doctor, you may find that your best bet to introducing lenses into your life is to wear daily disposable lenses.

Dailies are worn for one day, removed at the end of the day, and disposed of; then, you place a fresh, clean pair on your eyes the next time you wear contacts.

     Hubble Contacts

The benefit of dailies is a much lower risk for eye health complications when compared to reusable lenses. In addition, they are ready to be worn whenever and wherever you need them, and if you subscribe to Hubble’s convenient subscription service, you’ll always have a fresh pair.

So, if you need to upgrade your look this summer, Hubble's daily disposable lenses might just be the right fit for you.

Could it be you need new glasses?

Looking for new fashionable frames that'll make your eyes the center of attention this summer?

You may be thinking, “Glasses are dependable and durable, so why not just wear the same frames forever and ever?” Well, it could be that your vision has changed and so it's essential to check in with your doctor periodically to ensure that you're wearing the right prescription for your eyes. Wearing the wrong prescription may blur your vision, and you may even experience headaches.

So, don't forget to schedule eye exams annually, if possible, and discuss any vision changes you're experiencing with your doctor. Preventative care is better than corrective care, so it doesn't hurt to be vigilant about your vision.

If you find yourself in need of new glasses or just want to brighten up your summer look with new frames, look no further. Hubble's frames are stylish, comfortable, and affordable.

You've got your comfortable Hubble dailies for daytime fun, but the sun has set, and the nightlife is calling your name. Now it’s time to debut your new stylish Hubble frames and make a statement.

The beauty of interchangeably wearing daily disposable contact lenses and glasses is that you can always look and feel your best depending on the activity while getting the vision correction you need.

Is it time to add a prescription to my sunglasses?

Although Hubble's daily disposable lenses offer UV protection, sometimes our eyes need a little more coverage from the sun, especially during those sunny dog days of summer.

If you've never tried prescription sunglasses before, you understandably may have a few questions. Here are some answers to a few of the most common ones.

Do you need a prescription to order prescription sunglasses?

If you are purchasing reader sunglasses, you don't need a prescription. However, if you are ordering single vision (corrects one field of vision such as near, intermediate, or distance), you will need an up-to-date glasses prescription.

Can I wear contacts with my prescription sunglasses?

It's not recommended that you wear contact lenses and prescription sunglasses unless your prescription sunglasses are readers and your contacts are for a different vision correction need. For most people, this will simply be doubling the correction.

Side Note: Your sunglass prescription is the same as your eyeglass prescription. You can not use your contact lens prescription to purchase prescription sunglasses. For more information on eyeglass prescriptions, click here

What kind of lenses does Hubble use for their prescription sunglasses?

Hubble uses only the best-polarized polycarbonate for its sunglasses. Polarized lenses are distinct from the standard tinted lenses in that they are superior at blocking glare and harmful UV rays.

How much UVA and UVB protection does Hubble's prescription sunglasses offer?

Excellent question! Someone is taking care of their eye health! Hubble's polarized lenses block 100% UVA & UVB rays.

Side Note: Avoid, if possible, purchasing sunglasses in general that offer less than 99% UVA and UVB protection.

Are Hubble prescription sunglasses durable?

Yes, not only are they durable, Hubble's sunglasses are all glare and scratch-resistant to provide you with crystal clear vision all summer long and more.

Are you wondering which sunglasses to purchase based on what's hot fashion-wise right now? Not to worry, Hubble's got you covered!

Hubble's daily disposable lenses:

Hubble spent over a year searching for a lens manufacturer that would align with its vision of affordability, durability, and comfort.

After traveling worldwide, visiting factory after factory, Hubble decided on St. Shine—an FDA-approved lens manufacturer. St. Shine produces millions of high-quality lenses worldwide.

The process of creating Hubble's daily disposable lenses is visionary, and the attention to detail is impeccable.

Hubble lenses are made from methafilcon A hydrogel material with 55% water content, UV protection, and a thin edge—designed for easy insertion, all-day comfort, and crystal clear vision.

They have a base curve of 8.6 and a diameter of 14.2, a UV filter, and come in powers ranging from -0.50 to -12.00 and +0.5 to +6.00. Hubble currently only offers daily disposable contact lenses because they believe, and optometrists agree, that wearing a new lens every day is safer and more comfortable.

Hubble customers purchase prescription glasses to help correct three eye conditions, nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism.

  • Nearsightedness (Myopia): You are able to see better near than you can at a far distance.
  • Farsightedness (Hyperopia): You are able to see better far away than you can see close up.
  • Astigmatism: A distortion in the eye that causes blurry vision.

Eyeglass Prescription Types:

Single Vision: These lenses correct one field of vision—near, intermediate, or distance. Single vision lenses have one correction in each lens, and the prescription consists of Sphere, Cylinder, Axis, and Pupillary Distance.

Readers: These lenses consist of only a Sphere and offer simple magnification for things like reading. You do not need a prescription to purchase these lenses.

Non-Prescription: These lenses offer no prescription correction and are commonly upgraded with blue light filtering lenses.

Sunglasses: Hubble frames offer non-prescription, single vision, and reader sunglasses. Hubble's sunglasses have a few limitations:

  • They do not fill a sunglasses prescription if the Sphere is greater than -10.00 or +6.00.
  • They do not fill a sunglasses prescription if the Cylinder is greater than +/- 4.00.
  • They do not offer High-Index for sunglasses at this time.

So, what are you waiting for? Time to upgrade your summer vibe with some fresh Hubble vision wear! Get started today and join the list of happy customers that have never looked back to the more expensive days.
